When COVID-19 caused 91��Ƶ’s campuses to close back in March, Melissa Reynolds, like many other students, was forced to return home. Her goal was to make the most out of quarantine, and when she was sent an email from the school’s industry liaisons regarding the 2020 Kohl’s Sophomore Career Expo, she knew she had to apply. Every spring, Kohl’s hosts a career expo for undergraduate sophomores who are interested in a career in retail. Nia Allen, a graduate student in the 91��Ƶ School of Fashion’s Master of Fashion Industry Studies (M.F.I.S) program, recently received the People’s Choice Award during the 91��Ƶ Graduate Studies Three Minute Thesis (3MT) competition. Three Minute Thesis gives graduate students three minutes and one powerpoint slide to effectively present their research in a concise and engaging manner. As part of a university-wide initiative, the 91��Ƶ campuses in Salem and East Liverpool are going green through a renewable energy project to provide solar panels at each location, resulting in cost savings and reducing the carbon footprint of 91��Ƶ. A year ago, the 91��Ƶ Board of Trustees approved the solar panel project for six of its regional campuses as part of the university’s Energy Master Plan.
